Lose to Win Overview | Diagram of Spiritual Disciplines | Discipleship Commitment (printable pdf)

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

We invite you to join with us as we follow Jesus in fulfilling his mission by committing to love God, love our brothers and sisters, and love our neighbors and people of all ethnicities and nations.

LOVE OUR GOD BY LISTENING AND ABIDING

We commit to love God with all our hearts; making every effort to obey God by daily denying self and setting aside everything that holds us back. God lives in those whose hearts are fully committed to Him to give them the power to do what he commands (2 Chr. 16:9).

Our first commitment is to love God by obeying all His commands.

  • LISTENING: We will read the Bible daily to know what Gods commands so we can obey them. We will meet with three to five others for weekly discipleship to study the Bible, set goals to obey, pray, and follow up to encourage.Joshua 1:8, John 14:15, 21, 23, 26, John 15:7
  • OBEYING: We daily apply the gospel by believing we are loved and forgiven by God and daily repenting of sin. As we walk in the Spirit we are filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control. 1 John 1:7,9, Galatians 5:22-23

LOVE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS BY SERVING

We commit to love those around us like Jesus who laid down his life for everyone.  Anyone who really believes in Jesus will do what He did. He gave us a new command to love one another as He loved us.

Our second commitment is to love others like Jesus loved.

  • SERVING: We will use our lives to help others by serving with our spiritual gifts in a weekly ministry team. We will invest our finances generously to expanding Gods Kingdom by supporting workers who are making disciples. In a conflict, we will try to resolve it by going to our brother first, then asking mature Christians to help us reconcile, and finally bringing it to the group if we can’t resolve the conflict, to make every effort to maintain unity. Mark 10:45, Matt 6:33, Ps 24:1, Mal 3:10, Eph 4:2-3, Matt. 18:15-17,

LOVE OUR WORLD BY EXPANDING GOD’S KINGDOM

We commit to love our world by going, not waiting for the lost to come to us. Jesus commanded us to go tell everyone that God loves them and teach everyone to love each other as He commanded.

Our third commitment is to love all people by evangelizing and reproducing ourselves by making disciples who obey God.

  • EVANGELIZING: We will weekly have gospel conversations and imitate Jesus by being a friend of "sinners.” We are in a spiritual war. We will go with partners who will encourage us to be bold and persevere.Luke 10:1,19:10, Col 4:2-6, 2 Cor 5:14-20
  • REPRODUCING: Jesus reproduced himself by training disciples to do what he was doing. We will make disciples by inviting others to read the Bible with us and obey God. As God adds to our group, we will send disciple makers out to start new discipleship groups. Matt. 28:18-20, 2 Tim. 2:2

We will fill the Earth with people who love God and others by starting discipleship groups and churches. We will encourage one another to fulfill these commitments and keep any struggles shared confidential to protect their dignity. If God leads us to move away, we will join a church and start a discipleship group where we will fulfill these commitments.
