This diagram is a way of understanding the stages of spiritual growth as a follower of Christ moves from self-centeredness to other-centeredness. The first diagram provides a simpler starting point for the 4 stages of Spiritual Growth, then describes 5 Ways the Spirit helps Christians grow and 5 Spiritual Disciplines Christians can practice to walk in the Spirit.

12 I am writing to you who are God’s children because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus. 13 I am writing to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I am writing to you who are young in the faith because you have won your battle with the evil one. 14 I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one. 1 John 2:12-14

Once that foundation has been grasped, there are 12 Practices that I have discovered over the years in many discipleship training resources that I believe are essential for followers of Jesus to be trained in to be fruitful.

I started with Jim Putnams concept of spiritual growth SCMD process and have adapted it to the LASER discipleship with steps that are derived from T4T multiplication. This idea of stages of growth comes from 1 John 2.
